On September 16, 2025, Colleton County School District had the great honor of recognizing the Office of Transportation for their hard work and dedication to the safety of transporting our students to and from school. Our transportation department is a vital part of our school district, and we thank the team for all they do.
We also had the pleasure of recognizing our students for the month of September. The Colleton County Middle School Robotics Team and the Northside Elementary Safety Patrol greeted our guests and read the mission statement for the Regular Board meeting. We congratulate and thank each of the staff and students for a job well done.

The Colleton County Office of Gifted and Talented Education will be hosting its Annual Meeting on Monday, September 22, at 6 PM in the Colleton County High School Performing Arts Center. This meeting is open to the community and all parents of students in the Colleton County School District, especially parents of students being served in the Gifted and Talented program, including parents of high school students enrolled in honors, dual enrollment, or early college courses. We look forward to seeing you there.

The SC-SIC and the Carolina Family Engagement Center (CFEC) invite you to join them from an important virtual event on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. This will be an informative event to discuss what every school and family needs to know about vaping in order to help strengthen prevention and awareness in our school district.

The students from the Tech 2 classes at Thunderbolt Career and Technology Center have been working on the administration vehicle and other teacher vehicles in order to gain experience and use of the new tools the class has been receiving. The instructor, Mr. Brian Wilson stated, "the shop is starting to become a top notch learning facility." Great job to these students and staff at TCTC. Keep up the great work!!
A parent meeting for multilingual students is scheduled for Thursday, September 25, 2025 in the district office boardroom. This is a great way to connect with other parents and learn how to support your child's growth and discuss important information to help your child succeed.

The staff at Colleton County School District has been very busy for the start of the new year. The Communications Team has started an internal “Tell Me Something Good” campaign to boost team morale and keep the positive energy moving. Each week employees will submit something positive by 5pm on Friday. A random winner will be chosen each Monday and presented with a small token to say thank you for promoting positivity within our district.

Title I Parent & Family Engagement Specialist, Mrs. Tangela Green, is very excited about the lunch buddies mentoring program through the Office of Federal Programs. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, you must complete the sign-up by scanning the QR code on the flyer. We urge you to get involved and be a positive role model for the students of Colleton County School District.
On August 14, 2025 we wrapped up our Be Pro Be Proud truck experience at CCHS! 🚚🛠️ This mobile experience gives students the chance to explore options outside of college while learning about the most in-demand trades in South Carolina. BPBP provided hands-on opportunities to try truck driving, forklift operation, welding, and excavating simulators, plus VR experiences for carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical work, and diesel technology.
We’re grateful to our School Board Members Sharon Witkin, Glenn Nixon, and Roman Cunningham for coming out to show their support, along with Leslie Johnson, our Regional Workforce Advisor, and Ms. Charlene Williams, our middle school CDF, for all her assistance. Special thanks to our teachers, students, and MVP student volunteers for making this two-day event a success.
This event was proudly organized by our High School Career Department, Ms. Jasmine Thomas and Mr. Romeo Edwards, and we couldn’t have done it without the amazing BPBP staff who kept our students engaged and inspired.
