Colleton County High School

Several Colleton County School District teachers participated in a 3-day professional development on July 7-9, 2026, facilitated by a Savvas SIOP® Certified Consultant. SIOP® (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol) training is a research-based professional development program designed to help educators teach grade-level content effectively to English learners and multilingual students. It pairs rigorous academic instruction with targeted language development.

During the week of July 6, our Colleton County High School math teachers leveled up their skills! They participated in an intensive professional development session led by Dr. Tiffany Arnold from Math Nation as well as virtual sessions with the South Carolina Department of Education.

Our educators worked together to create engaging, high-quality resources that strengthen student learning and foster teamwork in the classroom.

Week 4 Spotlight of the S.M.E.P.

What an incredible way to wrap up an amazing summer! Our students finished strong, celebrated their accomplishments, and created memories that will last a lifetime. We are so proud of all they achieved through their hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm throughout the program.

Thank you to our outstanding staff, families, and community partners for making this summer a success. We wish all of our students a safe, fun, and restful remainder of the summer.

As you begin preparing your students for the 2026-2027 school year, please reference the student dress code per Colleton County School District board policy JICA. We hope everyone has a wonderful summer.

Colleton County High School will have The Cougar Kickback on July 22nd and July 23rd to provide students and staff an opportunity to meet their teachers and to gain information pertinent to their grade level, participate in team building activities and to obtain their course schedule.

USC Salkehatchie is offering a free clean energy summer camp for ages 10-14. Use the information on the flyer below to sign up. Limited spots available.

Mark your calendars to join us for the Back to School Bash at Colleton County High School on August 1, 2026. Students must be present to receive supplies. We hope to see you there!!

Bus transportation lists are now available on the CCSD website for the summer school routes. These lists apply to 4K–3rd-grade Summer Reading Camp, Gap, and Migrant students who registered by the deadline and received attendance confirmation from their school. Community Event:
The Walterboro Tennis Association will be hosting Cardio Tennis on May 28th at 5:30pm at the Forest Hills Center in celebration of National Tennis Month 2026. This clinic is offered free of charge thanks to USTA-SC #playtennissc. Registration is required and space is limited.

Community Event:
The Walterboro Tennis Association invites you to its official re-launch celebration on May 16, 2026. This event is free and open to the public. There will be fun for the whole family and equipment is provided. Instruction will be provided by Diane Barker. They will have arts and crafts, refreshments, giveaways, games, summer camp sign-ups and adult & youth league information will be provided. Advanced registration is required.

On April 23, 2026, the State Teacher of the Year Gala was held at the Governor's Mansion in Columbia. Mrs. Marion Kimotho represented Colleton County School District as the 2025-2026 District Teacher of the Year.
